What is PU Leather?
PU Leather, short for polyurethane leather, is getting more and more popular. Polyurethane is widely used in the construction and engineering industry. It is an ultra-durable, flexible, and long-lasting polymer.
Why do we use it?
This artificial leather is actually in its natural form 100% vegan because it is a blend of different artificial chemicals. Since polyurethane has been used as a special coating for heavy-duty and industrial purposes, it is very durable. It lasts a very long time and usually does not crack or wear down quickly.
The overall durability and quality are quite good and actually way better compared to most faux leather alternatives. But that is what it is originally made for – it is very tough and long-lasting.
Where is made from?
PU leather is an artificial leather material made with split leather (that's the fibrous part of the hide leftover from making genuine leather), which has been coated with polyurethane (hence the name "PU") and then applied to the surface of the furniture.
Our source of supply is China-based, and therefore, all materials are traceable and duly certified.
