Q1: Can you supply genuine DuPont Tyvek®?

Genuine DuPont Tyvek® can be reviewed as a project-specific material route, subject to the selected style, supplier availability and supporting documents. Tell Rivta at the RFQ stage if verified DuPont Tyvek® is mandatory. If another paper-look HDPE nonwoven is proposed, it should be identified separately rather than described as Tyvek®.

Q2: Is Tyvek® a type of paper?

No. “Tyvek paper” is a common market term, but Tyvek® is a DuPont brand of spunbonded high-density polyethylene material. It can have a paper-like appearance while behaving differently from conventional paper during printing, folding and sewing.

Q3: Are sewn Tyvek cosmetic bags waterproof or leakproof?

Not by default. The material can resist water penetration, but needle holes, seams, zipper or drawstring openings and the lining affect the finished bag. A leakproof or immersion claim requires a defined construction and an agreed test method.

Q4: Can you make Tyvek drawstring pouches as well as zipper cosmetic bags?

Yes, both routes can be reviewed. The correct material hand, cord channel, closure, base shape, seam reinforcement and print route should be approved in a finished sample.

Q5: Which logo methods can be used?

The suitable method depends on the verified material style, surface, artwork coverage and durability requirement. Screen printing and other print routes can be reviewed, while labels, patches, embroidery or custom hardware may require reinforcement and project-specific sampling.

Q6: What is the MOQ for a custom Tyvek pouch?

MOQ is confirmed after the material source, construction, color, print method, hardware, packing and number of designs are reviewed. Send your target quantities so Rivta can quote the workable route instead of applying one generic MOQ to every specification.

Q7: Can I order a custom sample before bulk production?

Yes. A custom sample is used to approve the material, size, construction, print, closure, lining, hardware and packing. Sample cost and timing are confirmed after the specification and material route are clear.

Q8: Is a finished Tyvek cosmetic bag recyclable?

It should not be claimed automatically. The answer depends on the verified material, local collection route and the complete construction, including zippers, cords, linings, foam, adhesives, coatings, inks and labels. Marketing claims should match the final bill of materials and destination-market requirements.

Q9: What should I send for a quotation?

Send the product route, finished dimensions, target quantity, intended use, artwork, material requirement, lining and hardware details, packing, destination country, delivery date and any test or document requirement. State clearly if verified DuPont Tyvek® is required.

Start With the Material Identity

“Tyvek paper” is a common buying term, but Tyvek® is not conventional paper. Tyvek® is a DuPont brand of spunbonded high-density polyethylene material. Before quotation, confirm whether your program requires verified DuPont Tyvek® or a different paper-look HDPE nonwoven route.

Verified material route

If verified DuPont Tyvek® is mandatory, tell Rivta at the RFQ stage so the material source, supplier availability and supporting documents can be reviewed before sampling.

Alternative paper-look route

If an alternative material is proposed, Rivta will identify it separately in the quotation and sample record. An equivalent look does not make a material Tyvek®.

Hard Structure or Soft Structure?

Tyvek® families can have a more paper-like hard structure or a more fabric-like soft structure. They do not feel, fold, print or sew in exactly the same way. Approve the actual material swatch and finished sample rather than choosing from the material name alone.

Paper-like or soft hand

Paper-like hand supports crisp folds, a technical paper appearance and lightweight retail storytelling.
Softer hand is useful when the pouch must flex, gather at a drawstring channel or feel more textile-like.

Lining and reinforcement

Added lining or reinforcement can change weight, flexibility, seam behavior and recyclability. It must be included in the approved sample.

Printing, Logo and Hardware

Available decoration depends on the confirmed material style, surface treatment, artwork coverage and required durability. Review screen printing, transfer or other print routes against the actual substrate. Embroidery, patches, labels, custom zipper pulls and metal hardware may require reinforcement or a different construction route.

For approval, record the print method, ink or transfer system, Pantone target, artwork size, rub-test expectation, fold location and acceptable color tolerance. Large solid prints, metallic effects and print across folds or seams require a project-specific sample test.

Water Resistance Is Not Waterproofing

Tyvek® material can resist water penetration, but a sewn cosmetic bag is not automatically waterproof, leakproof or suitable for immersion. Seams, needle holes, zipper or drawstring openings, lining and construction determine the finished result.

If your project needs a defined liquid-containment result, state the liquid, volume, exposure time, orientation and pass/fail method before quotation. Rivta will review whether the requested construction can be sampled and tested; no leakproof claim should be used without an agreed test route.

Sustainability and Recycling Claim Boundary

Do not treat “Tyvek®”, “paper-look” and “eco-friendly” as interchangeable claims. Recyclability depends on the verified material, local collection route and the complete bag construction. Zippers, cords, linings, foam, adhesives, coatings, inks and mixed-material labels can change the finished product route.

Sample and Quality Approval

Confirm the material source and style with a swatch or supplier reference.

Freeze dimensions, construction drawing, closure, lining, logo, hardware and packing.

Build the sample with the intended material route, not an unlabelled substitute.

Load the sample with the intended skincare, makeup or travel items and check capacity, closure and balance.

Check seams, needle-hole stress, edge finish, print rub, fold whitening or creasing, zipper movement and handle or cord reinforcement.

Record approved changes before the pre-production sample and bulk release.

Verified Production Experience: Silver Tyvek® Box Cosmetic Bag

Rivta completed a 2,000-piece silver DuPont Tyvek® box cosmetic bag project for an Eastern European beauty and spa program. The finished bag measured 20 × 10 × 12.5 cm, used a screen-printed logo and was packed flat in individual polybags.

Metallic Tyvek® behaves differently from canvas and conventional woven synthetic fabrics. It can show visible creasing, while areas around stitch holes need careful support and sewing control. For this project, Rivta used an appropriate supporting-material route and aligned with the buyer in advance on the acceptable wrinkle effect. Buyers should approve the loaded shape, stitch areas and surface creasing on a physical sample before bulk production.

Do not describe natural creasing as a defect or promise wrinkle-free results. This case shows material selection, support route and sample-confirmation experience.

Repeat order

Repeat-Order Experience: Packing Silver Tyvek® Pouches for Transit

Rivta supplied a 10,000-piece repeat order of silver DuPont Tyvek® triangular cosmetic pouches for an Eastern European skincare brand. The pouch measured 27 × 13 × 12 cm, used screen printing and was individually polybagged.

Packing is part of appearance approval for metallic Tyvek®. In an earlier shipment, insufficient folding control and carton protection caused transit creasing that affected the arrival appearance. For the repeat-order route, the pouches were laid flat instead of being tightly folded, the quantity per carton was controlled, and a higher-strength multi-wall corrugated export carton was specified. Buyers should approve the packing orientation, carton quantity, carton strength and a packed-carton check—not only the bag sample.

Do not claim transit damage can never happen. Carton strength, folding method, quantity per carton and shipping route must be confirmed per project.

Completed bulk order

Completed Project: Controlling Box-Pouch Side Shape in Silver Tyvek®

Rivta completed a 1,000-piece silver DuPont Tyvek® box cosmetic bag project for an Eastern European beauty brand. The finished bag measured 15 × 9.5 × 6.5 cm, used screen printing and was individually polybagged.

A box pouch can lose its intended square profile if the side-panel pattern and sewing shape are not controlled together. During development, the side silhouette tended to become trapezoidal instead of square. Rivta revised the pattern to reduce shape distortion and carried the side-profile requirement into bulk-production reminders and in-line checks. Buyers should approve the side silhouette, corner symmetry and loaded shape—not only the front view.

Do not claim Tyvek® cannot keep a square shape or that pattern correction prevents all deformation. Shape approval must be based on physical samples and in-line checks.
