Printing is one of the most visible parts of a custom cosmetic bag, but it is also where a vague RFQ creates preventable sample revisions. “One-color logo” is not a complete print specification. A supplier still needs to know the substrate, surface treatment, artwork size, coverage, color target, position, durability expectation and whether the pouch will be folded through the printed area.

1. Confirm the Substrate Before Selecting a Print Route
Tyvek® is a DuPont brand of spunbonded high-density polyethylene, not conventional paper. DuPont's printing guidance notes that process and ink selection require attention to the actual Tyvek® style and application.1 Ask the bag supplier and printer to evaluate the confirmed substrate rather than assuming a method that works on paper, canvas or PU will behave the same way.

2. Build an Artwork Handoff That a Factory Can Use

3. Put the Artwork on the Finished Pattern
A flat logo position can move visually after the pouch gains depth. Gussets, curved zipper lines and seam turnings change the visible front panel. Ask for a placement drawing tied to the finished dimensions and require the physical sample to show:
- distance from the logo to top, bottom and side seams;
- whether any part of the print crosses a fold, dart, piping or stitch line;
- orientation after the pouch is filled and standing;
- the acceptable effect of the material's creased surface on fine lines;
- alignment between repeated artwork and panel edges.
4. Define the Rub Test Instead of Writing “Good Adhesion”
A procurement brief should describe how the sample will be handled and what counts as failure. The right method depends on the print system, intended use and destination requirements. A practical project-specific check can define:
- dry or damp rubbing;
- the cloth or contact surface;
- number of cycles and applied pressure;
- whether the printed panel is flat, folded or loaded;
- acceptable color transfer, edge wear or cracking;
- the retained approval sample used for comparison.
Do not promise a universal result before the actual material, ink route and test have been agreed. The purpose of the test is to create a shared pass/fail decision for that project.
5. Verified Production Evidence: Screen Print on Metallic Tyvek®
Rivta completed and later repeated production of silver DuPont Tyvek® cosmetic pouches for an anonymized Eastern European skincare brand. The confirmed route used screen printing. The project evidence supports a practical rule: approve printing together with the real metallic surface, crease character, fold direction and export packing. It does not support a claim that one ink or process works for every Tyvek® style.
6. Sample Approval Sequence
- Swatch: confirm the material identity, color and surface finish.
- Print strike-off: compare color, opacity, fine lines and edge definition.
- Finished sample: check placement after sewing, turning, loading and closure.
- Rub and fold check: use the agreed method on the finished panel.
- Packing check: confirm the print is not damaged by individual packing, folding or carton pressure.
- Signed reference: record the material, print route, artwork version and tolerances for bulk inspection.
